Amal grew up in the midwest as a first generation Egyptian American. She’s a practicing Optometrist, Copywriter for a Digital Solutions Company, and Manager of Muslim Directory (masha ‘Allah). She received her Optometry Degree from Illinois College of Optometry, and her BS in Biology from Indiana University. While at IU, she served as President and Student Advisor for the Muslim Student Union. More recently, she served as Secretary and Program Coordinator for the McKinney Masjid Shura, and currently manages the McKinney Masjid Youth Leadership team. Since 2019, she has been a part of the Islamic Center of Frisco’s Library Team, assisting with children’s programs. As a mother of two active teens in public school, she understands the important role parents and community members must play in being an advocate for Muslim youth to strengthen their Islamic identity.
